QUICK WEIGHT GUIDE#2
Every room in a normally furnished home has about 1000 lbs of belongings. This is about 150 cubic feet. So, just count the number of rooms in your home, multiply by 1000 to get the weight and divide by 6.5 to get the volume. For example, 8 rooms x 1000 = 8000 lbs. 8000 lbs / 6.5 = 1230 cubic feet.
TIPS: If you decide to do all the moving yourself you will need a rental truck, boxes, packing paper, dollies, moving pads, fuel etc., as well as the ability to drive the size of truck you need.
If you can move in the middle of the month, you will get a better rate. Rates are also lower in the fall or winter.
