Stenciling Away - Part 2

Cherry StencilCherry Stencil

If you'd like to repeat a single motif, the bunch of cherries from our vine is a fun overall accent. Print out the pattern on the next page and enlarge or reduce on a copy machine, as desired. Use the pattern to cut your own stencil. This task requires a strong, steady hand and sharp blades. Cut exactly along the lines for the design to be even.

Cherries cheer up your walls.

What You Need:
- Clear, blank stencil plastic
- Low-tack painter's tape
- Fine-tipped permanent marker
- Glass larger than the design
- Sharp crafts knife

Instructions:
1. Tape stencil plastic over the pattern and use the marker to trace the design onto the plastic. Remove the pattern.

2. Tape the plastic to the glass. Using a crafts knife, cut out the stencil. If you slice into the wrong part of the plastic, tape over the mistake so paint will not leak through the cut.

3. Paint the cherries as described in "Stenciling Step-By-Step"; block out the cherries while painting the vine, and block out the vine while painting the cherries.
